Earlier today I was browsing OSDir.com, looking at screenshots from the latest and newest Linux distributions. Well, today when I logged onto the site I got an un-expected chuckle. There is a group of people who have taken the Ubuntu Linux distribution and turned it into "Ubuntu Linux, Christian Edition." (link goes to screenshots) I got to doing some Googling and here is a quote from their site:

Ubuntu Christian Edition is a free, open source operating system geared towards Christians. It is based on the popular Ubuntu Linux. Ubuntu is a complete Linux-based operating system, freely available with both community and professional support.

The goal of Ubuntu Christian Edition is to bring the power and security of Ubuntu to Christians. Ubuntu Christian Edition is suitable for both desktop and server use. The current Ubuntu release supports PC (Intel x86).

Ubuntu Christian Edition includes more than 16,000 pieces of software, but the core desktop installation fits on a single CD. Ubuntu Christian Edition covers every standard desktop application from word processing and spreadsheet applications to web server software and programming tools.

C'mon, give me a friggin' break! Do we really need a Christian edition of Ubuntu? Sure, I get the idea. They're going to make it easy for their followers to get free software to study the Bible. THATS FINE! But, why not just create a repository or create an Automatix like application that allows the Christian to download one file onto their Ubuntu Linux desktop, double click on it and WHAM BAM THANK'YA MAM, install the Jesus riddled software? OOOOH NO!

Heres the thing that really bugs me. Lets say someone in the gay community decided they wanted "Ubuntu Homo Edition." EVERYONE WOULD SCREAM! No, I don't think Mark Shuttleworth would ask them to stop producing it because after all, the software is open source, anyone can do with it what they please...and thats the beauty of it, even though these religious freeper creepers think they need one of their own.

Oh, also, on their website they have links to other "Christian friendly services." I find that amusing.

Lastly, why would anyone want to have the responsibility of maintaining an entire distribution when they could simply maintain a repository and a support website of their own that is Christian friendly. I would think the same thing if a gay person done this. Oooh, LUCKILY, the people who are doing this "Christian Ubuntu" haven't changed the default wallpaper (although it needs to be changed). Thats one thing I'm sure us homosexuals would change quickly! You know how we like to make things pretty!

Fetus Recipe

Ingredients

0.1 Part Grenadine
0.5 Part Amaretto
0.5 Part Irish Cream
1.5 Part Dead Fetus (must be processed in a food processor or blender)

Mixing Instruction

Fill most of the shot glass with schnapps & fetus. Top it off with the Tequila Rose. Wait about 30 seconds for the Tequila Rose to curdle (thus the name). Slam it!

Tonight someone whom I look up to posted a link to a video on You Tube. That video was Pink singing "Dear Mr. President."

The song is so powerful and I have sat here all night and watched it over and over. I can't quit thinking about the state of affairs in this country all because of one bigot, who is in control of this country and continues to ruin it every single day.

With this blog entry I thought I would post a few of the lyrics and add a few more thoughts of my own that Pink was not able to address in the song. However, I am sure that she was thinking them.

Of course both answers to those questions are Bush and of course all of his bigoted followers.

It is so frustrating to live in an area of the country (United States) where I have to put up with people constantly telling gay people that they are nothing but a bunch of sissies and that they are going to hell. A lot of times, having their lives threatened. Its not fun. But, you know what, a lot of these issues could be solved if we had a leader that would stand up and say that we need to accept people as they are. If he'd get the god dammed idea that church and state belong together this country could progress a little bit more.

This same bigoted asshole wants to deny women their right to choose whether they want to have an abortion or not. The belief system that he follows also states that women should submit themselves unto their husbands and be their husbands servants.

I know all to well what that means for a woman if they choose to marry a man like this. I have watched my grandparents my entire life. My grandmother does a few things, but he has to approve.

The government allows peoples homes to be washed away, yet, the man is still in office. They continue to tell the people whose homes are washed away that they can no longer be supported by the government and these same people don't have the means to provide for themselves. Lots of them are elderly. I guess thats one way to dwindle down the population, just let them die off!

The man doesn't know anything about hardships, financially I mean. He has always been taken care of. Thats like any politician in this country. If you are a politician, more than likely your family has a political background.

He doesn't know what its like to come home sometimes and not have anything to eat and if you do have anything to eat, its cheap, like spam in a can. Or pork & beans. Sure, its food. But does that nourish a persons body, no. I guess I should shut up, at least I had the spam on those days. There are people much worse in this very country. Yet, we go off and blow up other countries in the name of democracy and jack up everyones taxes while allowing the rich to not pay so much. Gas prices have skyrocketed and no one can afford to drive to work. People in my family commute over an hour each way every day just to get to work. Some people around here commute longer than that. Do you pay for gas to get to work or do you stop by the grocery store and buy food?

Last night, my good mate De-Atrophier and I were just sitting around drinking Bloody Marys by the jug when that dirty whore Inspiration burst through the door and pissed all over the carpet.

"Why don't you two homos start a blog?", she slurred before puking on the coffee table and passing out.

Having nothing better to do and sharing a keen interest in nastydirtymonkeysex and all things queer, we decided to take Inspiration's advice. So for your edification we present Unnatural Acts: the bastard child of The Spin Cycle and De-Atrophication.

We will of course maintain the proud traditions of the Radical Queer Movement that inform our ideas and politics. Militantly atheist, depraved, obscene and irritatingly left wing - we hold nothing sacred. Expect to be informed, educated and, most likely, offended. Post your comments - whatever they may be. Howl with outrage or drool like the sycophantic dogs that you are, we don't care.
